Video review pricing without per-seat fees: how storage-only pricing works
Why most video review tools charge per user, what paying for storage instead means for your team, and how Seamlift prices in USD and INR.
Most video review tools charge per user. That makes sense for a big studio with a fixed team, and very little sense for a creator with one editor, a freelancer with ten clients, or a small agency where the team changes from month to month.
This post explains the two common pricing models, when each one is cheaper, and how Seamlift's storage-only pricing works, in both USD and INR. We make Seamlift. The current prices are always on the pricing page; the figures below were checked on 14 October 2026.
Per-seat pricing, and why it adds up
On a per-seat tool, every person who uploads, manages or sometimes even comments is a seat, and every seat is a line on the bill.
A typical YouTube channel team looks like this:
The creator
One or two editors
A thumbnail designer
A channel manager or assistant
That's four or five seats before anyone has uploaded a thing. Add a second editor for a busy month and the bill goes up; when they leave, you remember to remove them, or you don't.
Per-seat tools usually include a large pool of storage, so you're paying for space you may never use. For teams that store terabytes of footage, that's a good deal. For teams reviewing a few cuts a week, it's paying for people instead of for the thing you actually use.
Storage-only pricing
The alternative is to charge for what the files take up and nothing else. Members are free. Projects are free. Features are the same on every size.
That changes how a team behaves:
You add people when they're useful, not when the budget allows. The sponsor's producer, a second editor for one video, an assistant for a week.
Everyone gets every feature. No "upgrade to unlock guest comments" or "passwords on the Pro plan".
The bill follows the work. A busy month with lots of cuts in review costs a bit more; a quiet month costs less if you clean up.
The trade-off is honest: if you keep many terabytes in the tool, a per-seat plan with a big storage pool can cost less. Storage-only pricing is built for review cuts and shared assets, not for archiving raw footage.
How Seamlift's pricing works
10 GB free, forever, with every feature and no card needed. The free size is limited to one workspace.
After that, storage comes in 100 GB steps at $4 a month each, or ₹349 a month in India.
Yearly is $39 or ₹3,399 per 100 GB, about 19% less than paying monthly.
Every size includes every feature, unlimited projects, unlimited members and unlimited workspaces.
Paid storage goes up to 50 TB, with custom pricing above that.
Some examples, total storage per month:
110 GB: $4, or ₹349
510 GB: $20, or ₹1,745
1,010 GB (about 1 TB): $40, or ₹3,490
Use the slider on the pricing page for any other size.
What counts toward storage
The cuts you upload for review, in every version you keep.
Shared assets: music, logos, graphics, thumbnails, models.
Files in the recycle bin, for 30 days after you delete them, so a mistake can be undone. After that they're gone and stop counting.
A 10-minute 1080p export is often around 1 GB, and a 4K one several times that, so 100 GB covers a good number of cuts in review at once. Delete old review versions once a video is published and the same storage lasts much longer.
What doesn't cost extra
Members, whether they're editors, reviewers or viewers.
Guests who review from a share link.
Projects and workspaces (on paid sizes).
The Premiere Pro panel, Blender add-on and Illustrator extension.
Publishing to YouTube.
Pricing in INR for India
Most video review tools charge in US dollars only. For creators and agencies in India, that means card foreign transaction fees, a price that moves with the exchange rate, and no UPI.
Seamlift prices in INR for India:
Prices are shown in rupees and include GST.
Payment goes through Razorpay, with UPI, cards and net banking.
You're billed the rupee price you see, so there's no currency conversion by your bank and no foreign transaction fee.
Everyone outside India pays in USD, with sales tax or VAT added at checkout where it applies.
When per-seat is the better deal
To be fair to the other model, a per-seat tool can cost less when:
You store a lot. Several terabytes of footage across a small, fixed team.
Your team never changes. Two people, always the same two.
You need enterprise features like single sign-on, watermarking or camera-to-cloud, which come with per-seat enterprise plans.

FAQ
Is there a video review tool that doesn't charge per user?
Yes. Seamlift charges only for storage: 10 GB is free, then 100 GB steps from $4 or ₹349 a month. Members, guests, projects and features are not charged for.
What does storage-based pricing mean for a video review tool?
You pay for the space your files take up, not for the number of people on the team. Every storage size gets every feature, so adding an editor or a reviewer never changes the bill.
Is there video review software priced in INR?
Seamlift shows prices in INR for India, including GST, and takes UPI, cards and net banking through Razorpay. You're billed in rupees, so there's no currency conversion or foreign transaction fee.
What's an affordable video collaboration tool for Indian creators and agencies?
Seamlift starts free with 10 GB and every feature. After that, each 100 GB is ₹349 a month or ₹3,399 a year, with unlimited members, so an agency adding editors and client reviewers doesn't pay per person.
What happens if I go over my storage?
You can add more storage at any time from the pricing slider, or delete old versions to free space. Deleted files count toward storage until they leave the recycle bin after 30 days.
Can I cancel?
Yes, at any time. Every uploaded cut stays downloadable.
